        ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATION OF THE KOREAN WAR COMMISSION
        Appropriates funds for the 50th Anniversary
        Commemoration of the Korean War Commission. (Kawamoto)

SB 2093    RELATING TO VETERANS RIGHTS AND BENEFITS       TIA,WAM
        Requires comptroller, on request of a deceased
        Filipino veteran's survivor or interested party, to
        make payment directly to a mortuary or crematory for
        funeral/burial services and to transport the veteran's
        remains to the Phillippines, upon submission of an
        unpaid invoice to the OVS; appropriates moneys.

SB 2133    MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROMOTE A STRONG    TIA,WAM
        PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN THE MILITARY AND THE STATE OF
        HAWAII
        Makes appropriation of $85,000 to the Department of
        Defense to award as a grant community liaison
        purposes. (Kawamoto)

SB 2311    RELATING TO MANDATORY USE OF SEATBELTS         TIA,JDC
        Requires minors to wear seatbelts in the backseat of a
        car. (Kawamoto)

SB 2096    RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE DRIVER LICENSING     TIA,JDC

 
        Night driving provisions for licensed drivers under 18
        years of age. (Kawamoto)

SB 2707    RELATING TO ADMINISTRATIVE REVOCATION OF       TIA,JDC
        DRIVER'S LICENSE
        Incorporates zero tolerance provisions for persons
        under 21 into the administrative driver's license
        revocation process. (Kawamoto)



SB 2318    RELATING TO ADMINISTRATIVE REVOCATION OF       TIA,JDC
        DRIVER'S LICENSES
        Amends the law relating to administrative revocation
        of driver's license to include revocation of all motor
        vehicle registrations iissued to a driver who has been
        convicted of a previous violation of driving under the
        influence of intoxicating liquors or habitually
        driving under the influence of liquor or drugs.

SB 2169    RELATING TO ALCOHOL CONCENTRATION LEVELS       TIA,JDC
        Lowers the legal alcohol concentration level for
        driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor
        related offenses from .08 to .04. (Levin)

SB 2305    RELATING TO MOTOR CARRIERS                     TIA,CPN
        Specifies facts which motor carriers need to show to
        be granted a temporary authority to operate by the
        public utilities commission. (Kawamoto)

SB 2306    RELATING TO MOTOR CARRIERS                     TIA,CPN
        Specifies factors that the public utilities commission
        must consider in whether to grant a certificate of
        public convenience and necessity. Makes unauthorized
        activity ground for denying subsequent applications.

SB 2307    RELATING TO MOTOR CARRIERS                     TIA,CPN
        Requires the public utilities commission to authorize
        no more than the proposed service described in
        applications for either certificates of public
        convenience and necessity for common carriers and
        permits for contract carriers. (Kawamoto)

SB 2189    RELATING TO PARKING CITATIONS                  TIA,JDC
        Expands to 60 days the time within which a rental or
        U-drive lessor has to provide the court with the name
        and address of a lessee receiving a parking citation.
        Deletes waiver of this requirement. (Bunda)

 
 
 
SB 2403    RELATING TO ABANDONED MOTOR VEHICLES           TIA,WAM
        Increases the maximum amount of the additional fee
        assessed for motor vehicle certificates of
        registration to be used for highway beautification and
        the disposal of abandoned vehicles. (Chun)

SB 2193    RELATING TO TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS IN SCHOOL       TIA,JDC
        ZONES
        Increasing penalties for speeding and other traffic
        violations within school zones. (Kanno, Kawamoto)

SB 2504    RELATING TO TRAFFIC OFFENSES                   TIA,JDC
        Increases the monetary penalties for reckless driving,
        failing to stop for a pedestrian in a crosswalk, and
        speeding; provides for mandatory license revocation
        for leaving the scene of an accident and for the third
        offense of failing to stop for a pedestrian in a
        crosswalk. (Tam)

testimony to the committee clerk, Room 205, State Capitol, 24
hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may also be faxed if less
than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at
586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor islands), at
least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  When faxing, please
indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and
time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for
submittal.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services
to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language
interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for
the disabled), please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior
to the hearing so arrangements can be made.
